Cincy Magic 2011 Fall "Bloodfest" - Friendly Event

The Cincy Magic has partnered with the following organizations to host a fastpitch friendly event on Oct 15th & 16th combined with a chance to share important information from these organizations:

- The National Kidney Foundation
- LifeCenter
- Community Blood Center
- Leukemia Society

The friendly event will include opporunities for games for 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U.

A Blood drive is also being planned for Friday Oct 14th at the West Chester branch of the Community Blood Center, with blood donations being 'tagged' to participating teams - the team with the most 'Blood' donations will be crowned Champions of the "Bloodfest" and will be rewarded for their efforts!

We want teams that are willing to 'give all on and off the field' to come participate.

Saturday Oct 15th:
- 13U/14U pool of 4 teams, 3 games each
- 12U pool of 4 teams, 3 games each
- 11U/12U pool of 4 teams, 3 games each

Sunday Oct 16th:
- 16U pool of 4 teams, 3 games each
- 14U pool of 4 teams, 3 games each
- 10U 2 pools of 3 teams, 2 games each (1 pool morning games, other pool afternoon games)

Every effort will be made to match teams with like competition.

Games will be 1 hour 20 minutes no new inning, and projected gametimes will be:

One ASA Sanctioned umpire per game.

(No team will be required to play 3 games in a row without a full game break unless requested due to schedule issues).

Cost will be $100 for teams playing 3 games, $70 for teams playing 2 games. No additional fees or costs - this covers umpires, game balls, and field setup/use costs. No gate fees or parking fees, full concessions are planned, coolers are welcome!

Games will be 7 innings or 1 hour 20 minutes no-new-inning time limit so we can keep on schedule.

Teams will be slotted into pools by age and relative strength.

Games will be played at the Fairfield Township park located behind Fairfield North Elementary School, just minutes from Bridgewater Falls Shopping Center located at Bypass 4 and Princeton Rd just North of SR 129 in Fairfield Township.

This event is dear to my heart, seeing as how I got a gift of a lifetime on June 15th, 2011!! That's the day I received my new kidney after being on dialysis for 4yrs. I can not thank my donor's family enough and the support from my Magic family has been amazing too!
I hope to see my fastpitch friends there!

Any chance you would be able to have the mobile blood unit on site for the weekend???

I would push for all my coaches & parents to donate. But will be much tougher going elsewhee on a different date......

Russ..I tried for the mobile unit, but it was booked ...the next best thing is to have the in-center in West Chester open on Saturday as well..7:30a-12p.
Currently we have Thurs. Oct. 13th 3p-7p & Fri. Oct. 14th 7:30a-4p all in-center hours open for BloodFest Donors.
