No, Doom is going for berth. I think ASA States is the only one that had more then one berth to give out.

Don't know. Doom coach told me before this tournament that this was their last chance to get the berth so I know they don't have one. I will see him tomorrow morning at Stingrays and will find out.

Just got off the phone with Michelle and she has been checking on this all day and it has been confirmed that the Region 9 tourney should have awarded two berths so we are going to Alabama! Thanks socaldad.

Dayton was a metro, not a regional. What happened to all of the other regionals over the years??? As far as I know, only one berth has ever been awarded. And thanks!

How many teams was in this again?

There "were" 10 teams in the Cincinnati Metro 16u division, including the only Hawks team that chose to participate, not sure how many teams "were" in the Region 9 Qualifier in June.

It's really quite simple, Region 9(2 berths) which encompasses Dayton Metro ASA(1 berth), Cincinnati Metro ASA(1 berth), State of Ohio ASA(5 berths), by ASA Code has 2 berths to award at it's Regional National Qualifiers, and 1 berth to award at it's "open" national qualifier. There was a bit of confusion, and as a result it was thought that there would be only 1 berth awarded at the Region 9 National Qualifier in June in Cincinnati, since there should have been 2 berths awarded and Doom finished 2nd in that qualifier they have been awarded the 2nd berth that was available for that event.

As far as I know all the Region 9 berths at 16u with the exception of the Cincinnati Metro berth have been awarded, with the exception of Cincinnati Metro, which has not completed play, I cannot offer any information regarding the other age divisions.

Since there are still games to be played in the Cincinnati Metro and the Doom has already earned their berth, the Cincinnati Metro will award a berth when play is completed Tuesday evening, based upon finish.
