are there any consequences for a coach being ejected from a game in an nsa qualifier. it actualy happened to a team 4 outta 6 games....is there no penalty. like a two game suspension or something. if there is no punishment for a crime a criminal would never stop commiting it...Right?

What did you do to get this guy/gal all fired up? Maybe he/she was just having a bad day and needed to take several breaks from the team.

I think it is up to the Blue and/or TD to report this coach if they feel that the conduct that warranted the ejection needs to be addressed at a higher level.

I had to remove a coach from the dugout (for the duration of the tourney) at one of my tournament last years. The coach went out on the field after the game to address some issues with the field ump and the field ump felt threatened. The UIC came to me with it and wanted to report the coach to the state, we compromised on the ejection. The coach meant no harm, he was upset but was not threatening, really a nice guy but what can you do?!

Should be an automatic ejection for that and the next game. Is there not anything about ejection stipulations in the rule book.....might have to see if I can remember the last place I threw it and read it.... ;)

I know in ASA stuff players and whole teams in the Mens side have been banned. I am sure NSA has stuff on the books to handle these types of situations.

I was laughing because at NSA World Bs last year I saw 4 different coaches get tossed at the 10U level. It was pretty funny that a 10U coach could get that fired up. I actually talked to the head Umpire and she told me that 10U is almost always the craziest age group for the coaches. The reason she said was that there was a large percentage of first time coaches or newer coaches who did not know all the rules or where just basically not able to emotionally remove themselves from the play on the field. (like that is easier when your daughter gets older:lmao:)

I saw only one coach get tossed last year against my daughter and he is easily the nicest human being out there. He actually was so embarrassed that he came back after the game to appologize to our team and parents. But he just got caught in the moment and lost his mind.

I agree here that the TD has to take responsibility. The umpires work for the TD. If the umpire ejects someone the TD should immediately get involved. If it is bad, the TD has the responsibility to clean it up for the rest of the attendees.

I remember our first year at OSU I had a coach losing his mind in the first elemination game. He was bad the day before but now it was loud. The umpire was trying to let the guy calm down but it wasn't working. The coach was going nuts. I called the coach over and offered him two alternatives - either calm down and continue to coach or I would give him a prorated check and his team could leave immediately. He calmed down and left anyway after his team got beat. The UIC did make a note and she moved it up stream.

There is a reason that some teams do not get invited back to tournaments and this is the main culprit.

As I was taught in the military, when you are in command, then command!!! The TD should have escorted the offender out of the facility after the second offense. Of course at showcases, hopefully the coach understands that he is hurting his girls when he/she acts up.

Every other coach there approached TD about it. So did some parents. The said coaches conducted themselve in their last two games differently ....I looked at base ump at one point and remarked at how he was my eleventh man off the bench...she laughed. Talked to the guys after the games to invite them to "The" Laser Nation Invitational, and they seemed like swell guys. This is not a slam to them...they are an excellent team...just wondering about the cause and effect thing.... ;)
