Could they be in trouble?

I'm a little lost on this thread. Since it's tryout season, I want to make sure I get my DD to all the "right" tryouts.

Does it mean that a notice that has 3 pages of various replies means that team is superior to a team that doesn't have so many enlightening replies? I wasn't aware of the importance of those add-ons such as.... 1) Hey Joe, missed you at XXXX tourney. 2) Yeah, we were on the back fields. 3) Wonderful parents in this organization. 4) Poster 3, what's THAT supposed to mean? 5) It's all good poster 4, I'm one of them. 6) Will you be playing with a yellow or white ball in practice this season? 7) (From original poster) Mostly yellow, but we may have a few old white ones around on occasion. 8) If we already have the right colored socks, can we skip the new socks and save 5 bucks on team fees? 9) Saw this team for 3 minutes at XXXX tourney, they are the real deal. 10) I heard the coaching staff will include a 2nd cousin to the best friend of one of the players on Team USA, obviously they know what they are doing. 11) TTT 12) Is your 10 U team going to any of the big exposure tournies next summer? 13) WOW, ran into my old HS pal and his DD plays for this team and they had a good time this year. 14) Do you have any good bats for the girls to use at tryouts? We are shopping around and want to see what's out there.

And so on and so on and so on....... so really, is THAT what makes a good team?

You've obviously already figured it out, so I'm sure your dd is already on the "right" team.

Due to my ADD I really havent read much of the responses on this thread but hears an example of what Im talking about...An organization that I will not name is trying to sell you on its 14u team that went some 38-7 and are looking for players to play "high pressure softball" Then they make the mistake of listing the not so competitive tournaments they have competed in.

Many look down on my actions but I only seek to wake individuals from their slumber!:lmao:

So Scott, only well known, big, well established teams are something you think is worthy of posting tryouts and everything else is a waste of everyone elses time is that what you want to say? IYO, like 15 teams in the state are worthy the rest should not be on the ball field? All smaller teams go home? .....Just maybe some kid or parent reads these postings which are hard to see or stay long enough on page one and really wants the opportunity and all these coaches are trying to do something good for players. Try looking at the positive aspects, what is wrong with open opportunity?...... I would like to think people root for the kids in the Special Olympics and be happy when they get the opportunity, some people only live the negative......

Scott,

What I see happening on my side of town is a huge explosion of new organizations all promising the best program to get your kid recruited. This year there are two new ones (Medina & Parma), last year Brunswick.

My question would be, why continue to create all these new organizations and continue to dilute the talent pool. Some of the things being done in the back rooms to staff these new clubs inevitably takes away from the integrity of it. Consolidation is what is needed, not attrition. Form alliances to help the kids.

I think some of these org. were started to try and bring money in for there training centers. After all making money is the American way, and don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that.

Understandable that training centers are using teams as a marketing tool to get more business. But let's not forget who should truly benefit...the kids. And if profit goals take priority over team goals, then beware. You can also expect to pay a premium price for winter workouts at their facilities, whether you need them or not...the facilities, that is.

I believe the original post was a question asking if the teams posting for tryouts were going to be in trouble fielding a strong team when it looks like the only people posting on their tryout post were the originators of the post!

Now my point about the team looking for players that want to play HIGH PRESSURE SOFTBALL! are basicly making false statements due to the week schedule they play and the fact that this year a good 12u team run ruled them playing up at 14. Listen Im allways be hammered for calling it how it is, I have no problem with girls going out and playing ball on weekends it's better that them smoking and doing drugs. But calling someone out for having a distorted view of reallity I see absolutly nothig wrong with it!

I said basically the same thing in the "what to look for" thread.

Maybe the world is coming to a end................

Are you sure ? I think your thinking of a 14u team.

The team touting "high pressure" with that winning record is a current 12u team.
