As the game of softball has become more competitive than ever, catching, throwing, and fielding are fundamental skills that are essential for today's softball players. Players exhibiting sound and aggressive fielding techniques are not only exciting to watch, but are heavily recruited by the top Fastpitch organizations in the area.

The Spano Dome, in conjunction with the Ohio Ice Fastpitch Organization, will be conducting defensive softball skills clinics. Instruction will be provided by the Ohio Ice Silver 16U coaching staff and 10u Ice assistant coach Bob Hoiles.

Each of the clinics will be unique from one another and will offer different instruction covering several techniques and skills in order to strengthen your daughter's defensive abilities from the ground up.

This is something you should take advantage of! My DD as well as some of her friends have been to this in the past and learned a lot. As parents you can sit on the sidelines and learn as well. Don't miss out!:yahoo:

This is the 2nd year that the Ice Silver coaches, Steve Libby and Doug Whited, have conducted these clinics. This season, 10u Ice assistant coach Bob Hoiles has offered us his assistance.

I want to thank those who ventured out last evening for the first of eight clinics. It was a pleasant surprise in the number of participants who came out on a bad weather night.

The players were very attentive and did an excellent job working on their fielding skills (in particular their footwork!).

Next dates are as follows:

January 2011
Tuesday, January 18 (7-9 PM)
Tuesday, January 25 (5-7 PM)
Skip Feb. 1
Tuesday, February 8 (5-7 PM)

March 2011
Tuesday, March 1 (7-9 PM)
Tuesday, March 8 (7-9 PM)
Tuesday, March 15 (7-9 PM)
Tuesday, March 22 (7-9 PM)

Thanks,
