OR
a Demarini Black Ops Rolling Bag? (thanks to Dave Dewalt- Ohio Wolfpack)
a four pack of tickets to a 2016 Akron Racers game? (thanks to Akron Racers- Stacy Corp)
an Akron Racers BP jersey? (thanks to Akron Racers- Stacy Corp)
an overnight stay at the Cleveland Marriott at Key Center? (thanks to Tom O'Shea and Marriott)
These are just some of the prizes that will be part of the raffle at the Stay in Softball fall charity tournament October 3,4 at Candlelite Knolls (Warren)! If you didn't already have enough of a reason to sign your team up (or to ask your coach to sign your daughter's team up), another incentive is that EACH PLAYER AND COACH entered in the tournament (max 15 per team) will get a free raffle ticket for the raffle including all of these prizes and more! We are working hard on getting more raffle prizes, individual gift bags and more things to make this a great tournament for all involved. But the biggest piece is getting a bunch of GREAT TEAMS to come play! Valley Extreme is hosting the tournament - and as many posters have noted in the tournament recap threads- VE knows how to run a great tournament! Plus, Ricky and Jeff are broadcasting one of the championship games live on TSZ radio show which is an amazing experience for the players involved.
The entry fee is a reasonable $275 and the profits that go to Stay in Softball will go towards SIS programs such as free player clinics, free coaches' clinics, equipment donations, player assistance and other activities to help grow and strengthen softball in Ohio and western PA. You don't have to look far on this site to read people opining on the lack of good coaching at the lower levels/age groups (rec, etc.) or how expensive equipment or other softball related things are- Stay in Softball is working hard to address these issues but we need your help! Entering the tournament is an easy and fun way to help.
I don't know of any coach or player who has gotten involved with SIS so far that has not thought it was a fun and worthwhile thing to do- and that it actually made a difference for the girls on the receiving end.
For more information or to sign up for the tournament, please contact Scott Munnell at valleyextrememunnell@yahoo.com or go to the Unsanctioned Tournaments thread to find the SIS tournament announcement.
