Drills that will get you into college

There are three types of drills: 1) Good drills: Ones that reinforce good technique 2) Bad Drills: Ones that reinforce poor technique 3) The drills that will get you into college: The "good drills" that you do on your own on a regular basis in the backyard/basement/garage or local softball diamond.

Your softball skills are a "product" that college coaches are willing to pay for. College coaches do not recruit a team or an organization. They recruit individuals with the skill set that will help their team. College coaches do not care what tournaments your team has won, or how many trophies you have. The games you play with your travel team is a very small part of what makes you a "college prospect". Your individual skills gets you recruited and improving them is up to you, the individual player.

Look at the bat speed, throwing speed and running speed that college coaches are looking for. Work hard to reach those times. Get to camps and showcase your "product". Then, invite those coaches whose schools you are interested in to come see you play live in tournaments.
