Elyria High beat Hilliard Darby 2-0 in the state D-I semi-finals as Tess Sito K'd 16 and allowed 1 hit.
The runs were walked in by the second HIlliard Darby pitcher after Darby's starter was forced out of the game when she was struck in the face with a line-drive.

The Plain Dealer says she was hit on the right cheek in the fourth inning but returned in the fifth to finish the game.

She did return, pitched well. Reliever did well also under the circumstances.

I was surprised that the Colerain catcher returnd after hitting the brick wall behind home plate HARD with her head trying to make a play on a foul pop in our Hudson game.

These ladies come to PLAY!

Tess Sito did it all today - pitching, pulling a million foul balls hard to left side each at-bat, stole a base and a sneaky bunt for a hit.

She is the best single player that I have seen, ina LONG time, all around. Very accomplished hoopster as well. Saw her play twice versus Hudson on the hardwood. She is so quick thru the zone, she must have yanked about 7-8 balls foul in each at-bat, maybe 10-12 in the bases loaded at-bat. Funny, the Darby LF was almost straddling the foul line after a while ....

Tess is the best I have seen. To all the youngsters, I have herd she is the hardest worker to. It's funny how those two things go hand and hand. I was hoping she would go to a big ten school so I could watch her on tv. Cleveland isn't too far of a drive.

Yeah, her workout regimen is almost legendary up here in Elyria, throwing 300-400 pitches a day, lifting weights. Our dd, 12, is a Tess fan, and her name is invoked frequently when the topic is working hard to get better.

I agree Tess is a great pitcher. But 300-400 pitches per day? Seems to be a injury ready to happen if that is the case.
