Excuses for missing JH games.... is there any?

Besides a Death in the family or illness maybe a wedding of a sister but is there more??
Is a miss a miss?
Should any miss be counted as such?
I have girls that show up for everything but are on the shallow end of elite play...
And I have girls that are good players but miss for good reasons and bad reasons.
Should good excuses be treated just like bad excuses.. and should showing up over rule good excuses

Just would like to see what people think..

Remember the children that play for you are simply that, children. Most decisions for missing practices and games are made by the parents. The only way to avoid concern about what is an excused reason for missing is to think out a policy before the season starts and make sure all of the parents are aware of the consequences before they allow their children to miss practices and games. It's really pretty simple,...I've always looked any parent in the eye who has questioned me and simply said, " If you went to work every day and the guy next to comes some or most of the time, who would you expect to get the promotion"? It's NOT about punishing a player who doesn't come to practice,..It's about NOT punishing a player who does do all that is required whether they are the best player or not. Committment is a lesson to be learned early in life, and some of the parents need to be educated also.
