Fall Ball Eligiblity Question

I understand that a fall team can only have 4 players from one school on a team. We have a girl that did not play high school ball due to an injury but goes to the same school as the other four. This girl was a freshman last year. Would this violate the rule?

The 4 per school accounts for players. If she did not play (my DD was the same in Freshman year) she does not count towards the total.

As JabberJaw states, you SHOULD be okay. The rule reads:

4.2) A member of an interscholastic softball squad (any student who has played in a
scrimmage, preview or regular season/tournament game as a substitute or starter)

sponsored by the Board of Education or other governing board may participate in
non-interscholastic softball prior to and after the school season under the following
conditions:
4.21) The number of interscholastic softball players from the same school on a noninterscholastic
squad is limited to four on the roster of that non-interscholastic
squad. A roster is defined as all the members of the entire squad on that noninterscholastic
squad.

I expect to have 6 or 7 of travel ball team make the same school team in 2012. Does this mean that only four of them can play on my travel team?

What kind of problems can I expect?

Randy,

As may as you want can play from Memorial Day weekend through July 31st (longer if you are in a Nationals tournament in August), but only 4 can participate from the time school ball ends thru the Memorial day weekend to be within the guidelines of OHSAA. Participation means practices as well as games. So no organized activities which stings since Middle School ball ends before Mother's Day.
