Agreed, we wont be back, is it really that tough to re-line the fields??? It does'nt take very long at all. The umpires were not so great either, there were some that were very good, but many that were horrible.

He may be a great guy...but defending him about having no control over the fields is absolute Bullshit!!! He has to rent the fields and pay for the people to work on them so he can do something about it!!!

If I went somewhere one year and couldn't get them to do it after I pay for it, I will take the beating and work to correct the problem for the following year. If it happens again the following year I have no one to blame but myself (screw me once shame on you...screw me twice shame on me) and would be done with Berliner.

This is his third straight year of not addressing the peoples concerns of working the fields and I would never attend one of his tourneys if it was held at Berliner, and by the way things sound this is the norm at all his tourneys!!! So I wouldn't recommend any of his tourneys to anyone...I rank them up there with N$A States. Not worth the $$$

Has anyone directly addressed these concerns with Bill? I'm just asking because I really don't know.

Our experience in three tourneys there have been positive. Could it be better? Sure - nothings perfect. For one thing they could rent golf carts at Berliner and make a ton of money.

For the MW World Series we had 5 games on the turf and 3 on the dirt fields, fresh lines really weren't an issue for the 3 on dirt. Raking or dragging a field thats been baking for the better part of 3 days is futility, lines might have been nice, but they didn't affect any calls that we observed. It's certainly not unusual to see firm or hardpan infields with a high quantity field utilizing multiple or huge complexes. I'll concede that lines would be good, I just don't know whether it really made a difference.

When there was rain (late Friday), they dealt with it, got the fields in good condition and resumed in a timely fashion-and they communicated it well.

The quality of competition was great, the game delays were well communicated, they have Schmidt's running concessions and once you pay your car fee for the weekend you're done with that. The quality of the umpiring staffs we had were top notch as well.

Our experiences there have been pretty much all you can ask of a tournament. I do realize that everyone gets a different take- so that's ours.

This year attended 1 tournament and has same issues with re-lining the fields. We were on the same few fields most of the weekend and don't remember them being lined before our first game on Saturday.

Last year went there twice and both times had some rain but ended up playing only 1 day at the first tournament. Basically the team paid for 3 hotel nights to get in 1 game. The other tournament also had issues with rain and it was a cluster.

Probably won't be going back there in the future.
