Got Bustos? Will be conducting a Coach/Parent clinic on February 11, 2012 and a One Day Clinic in the Cincinnati area February 12, 2012!

This will be the only local clinic Crystl and the Got Bustos? Staff will be holding in the area for 2012. Our Coach/Parent clinic will be held from 6:30-8:30. Cost is $35.00 per participant. A light snack will be provided during the clinic.

The all day clinic will start at 9:00 am (registration will begin at 8:00 am) and end at 4:00 pm. We will break for lunch from 12-1 and an autograph/photo session will follow immediately after the clinic.

Cost for the all day workout will be $120.00 per player. Cost includes the clinic, a Clinic T Shirt, lunch for the clinic participants and A Bat Jack Grip Trainer. The Bat Jack is one of the new training tools Crystl endorses and uses in all her camps, clinics and lessons.
We will have items to raffle off including some of Crystl?s memorabilia from her days with Team USA along with Got Bustos? T shirts, Wilson products and at least one DeMarini Got Bustos? Bat.

For those who are unable to make the all day workout we will offer the chance for you to attend either the AM (9-12) or PM (1-4) session. Cost for a single session will be $75.00.
Space is limited-we are only able to take 45 players and they will be given first option on doing the all day session or just one before being open to non-clinic attendees.

The coach/parent clinic is open to anyone who wants to learn or just come and ask questions and is not limited.

Registrations for the players clinic are coming in so be sure to get yours in if you are interested in attending. With the clinic being limited to 45 the players will have a lot of opportunities for individual help from Crystl and the instructors.

Contact Mary Ellen at gotbustosclinics@gmail.com for a registration form

With all the "stuff" about California teams why not come and hear your self how she did it and the teams she played on.

She has played with and against some of the best players in the world.

Some coaches teach hitting over the front leg and she does not and you can ask her why and she can show it to you.

Ask her about her strategies at the plate or how she played in the field.

Ask her how she back hands the ball and HOW she places her hand inside the glove and why.

There is a lot of information.

Come and share your opinions.

Can't wait daughter is excited to go and I have a few questions for Crystl and Howard. First no doubt will be - how to break DD from having a stiff front plant leg when she throws (does not flex her knee at all). Feel it keeps her from rotating and not getting any zip on her throws.

So can't wait - have heard nothing but great things.... See you on the 11th and 12th of Feb!!!

Sent you a PM and this should get you started until we meet you at the clinic.

We would like to , but Swifty is busy with college visits in Feb. She is trying to narrow them down and has that big question of which sport , since she is getting offers in both.

My 9 year old daughter and I are going to the clinic and most of the concept are going to be new information for my daughter. I have read and studied Hitter and Crystl's method since the fall and have a basic understanding of the drills etc.

My question is... What would be the best preparation for my daughter before the clinic? Should I purposfully teach overhand throwing, using a hammer and etc. or wait for the experts to help her and myself?

I am excited to get started and thank you for any input!

Many of you that coach and parents who help their kids should seriously consider coming to at least the coaches clinic.

The information will not be over your head and is easy to understand.

I have worked with Crystl since 2002 and feel I have learned more from her than I have taught her. Being able to work with an elite female athlete has given many of us the knowledge you could never get from others because they can not communicate how it feels.

This in my opinion is critical for females as they are audio visual learners.

Come and ask her yourself why she does not hit over her front leg and why she trains to hit a pitch below the knee and at the shoulder.

Do not be satisfied with what someone tells you what they interpret she does! Ask her yourself in person and you may challenge what others are teaching your daughters.

Thanks Howard

Give what you know and understand a try.

Balance is key! Being able to shift your weight for throwing and hitting is similar and we will tie it together in a simple way.

Remember coaches clinic tonight and the hitters clinic Sunday!

Come ask her yourself how she does and if you have a better way show her.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved in the clinic this weekend. The genuine desire to help every kid improve was evident from start to finish. I knew that I wanted more for my DD than hands to the ball and squish the bug. With a great deal of scrutiny I began reading an incredible array of opinions and approaches to hitting. The more that I studied the more I gravitated to the Carrier/Bustos philosophy. And am I ever glad that we got to see for ourselves!

...as an educator myself, I was most impressed with the quality and style of instruction that Crystl and Hitter demonstrate!

Thanks, kelley

We are happy you had a good time and took something away you can use with your daughter and your team.

It is nice to see other coaches come back and help at the clinics and they all seem to feel they learn something new all the time.

The clinic coming in September should be one of the best ever held in this area in my opinion.

Thanks for those that attended and helped.
