First time at SpanoDome

Our team is participating in the 16u tourney this weekend. We really aren't a travel team, just a collection of players from our local high school. With that said, we really don't have any winter tournament experience. Also, this is our first time at the Spano Dome. I've already spoken to the SpanoDome people about getting NSA certified and bringing a typed roster. Any other advice on things we may be overlooking in order to avoid any snags this weekend would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First you must register your team online with NSA at www.playnsa.com

Second you must present a copy of your team insurance

Both above documents must be presented to the TD prior to playing.

Mustard, our team is Buckeye Trail.

Do we get the insurance when I register at the NSA site? Is the NSA registration easy/quick??

the best thing to do is visit the ohio nsa website. www.ohionsafp.com and contact Lisa Simpson - Ohio Assistant Director. She can give you all the details you need prior to playing in your first NSA tournament.

Just competed at the Spano Dome 18U tournament. A couple of things to know. First there is no right fielder. You play with eight but can bat up to ten. Net play. Three balls in the ceiling net is an out. You will find that the dirt infield makes for a very lively ball bounce so make sure your girls are always prepared along with base coaches. Make sure that your girls dress warm because we found it to be chilly for most of the weekend. Good luck to you and your girls.

Can anyone fill me in on the net rules? Our 10u team is set to go up on the 25th. Also, will the 10's play w/o a right fielder as well (8 players)?

Coop, We were there last year with 12 & 14U teams. 10-12&14s play with 9, I am not sure about the 16U division. Right field is very short, about 90 feet. Also there is a concrete walkway around the fields and if a ball hits this right it will bounce back a long way. Our kids had a great time and we will be there again this year (12U)

The Evolution is from the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. I believe they are a tournament team that is formed from a local league and goes to several tournaments a year. I really noticed them starting about 3 years ago and they have improved every year. Nice team , you better have the girls awake!

I printed out a list of the rules for the SpanoDome from their website. For the 16u tourney this weekend, will they be following all of those rules, or just those rules that are facility related, like the roof and nets? We normally play in the ASA, are there any NSA rules in particular we need to know?
