Really disappointed in Alabama's tentative hitting today. They just looked at a LOT of pitches - the same pitches Fla. hitters were teeing off on. They also simply didn't connect well with the pitches that
were hittable, just not the quality swings Fla. hitters were taking. There's a lot to be said for confidence, and using what you have been taught. The pitching for either team certainly wasn't of the calibre that could shut down aggressive hitting. And Fla. had that in truckloads today!
The postage stamp strike zone helped contribute to the Gator's party the first game, but ineffective pitching by Bama made the situation go from bad to worse. A very tight strike zone with average hitting can be overcome with stellar pitching, but the Gators are NOT your average hitters, and Bama definitely did not display stellar pitching.
If the Gator bats stay hot and aggressive tomorrow, there is no ASU pitcher that can beat them. Absolutely impressive hitting - down through the line up. I see why they are ranked as the best hitting team in the nation. I also think I caught a glimpse of Howard C. over in the corner of the dugout... now it all adds up!
