Yea think you could do that , it just get complicated when you are playing for different team @ different governing bodies, are tourneys qualifier or just friendlies...got to be careful that you don't get your team of the weekend disqualified for illegal roster....

I know that one of my fellow "addicted" members of OFC told me that he would just wait to see what was cropping up on the brink of the summer season and he felt very comfortable that things would work out well for his DD.

You can do that but your DD will end up on a team that needs players but the girls/parents/coaches (fill in the blank here) cannot get along.

Bill,

Your argument wouldn't be applicable if the opening came from an injury incurred during the HS season that knocked the HS player out of some or all of the summer season, right?

Correct. There are a myriad of reasons that teams are looking to fill slots. I'm just saying that one could end up in a bad situation by waiting and missing out on a golden opportunity.

What would be the benefit?
If there are fees to be paid you would still have to pay them.
Most decent teams still looking are just looking for players 10 through 12 so, if the player was decent they would have been picked up earlier,
Those looking for player 1-9 are in trouble and you would not be happy anyhow.

My recommendation, get out to as many tryouts as you can, Have a goal in mind and try like heck to make the team that has the same goals as you do.
Then you eliminate the Mickey Mouse Games that are played out every year and you are happy.

Why would anyone want to wait it out and possibly miss out on an ideal situation that they would have discovered during a tryout or even worse, end up without a team at all?
