Good tournaments for first year 14-U team

Any suggestions for tournaments for a first year team. Our girls are mostly local so we want to sign up for tournaments that will fit our team. We want to compete but not be blown away every time out and kill our girls spirits. We are looking for tournaments in June and July.

Wooster and Wayne Co. w/one from Ontario.

There are a couple in Lancaster--one is through the Lancaster Girls Fastpitch League--don't know their name. They usually have teams that are equivalent to rec allstar teams and a couple travel teams that would give you a little more challenge. I think it is around the first weekend in July or the last weekend in June.

It is usually followed by the Phoenix fastpitch USSSA qualifier on the July 4th weekend. That one will have more travel teams but still might be a good tournament for your team.

I do not have contact numbers for either one. The Phoenix Fastpitch organization should be able to give you information on both tournaments.

There is a good one in Orrville. THe "Fire in the Sky" tournament I beleive is what it is called. It coincides witha firework show and carnival. It is only for 14U.

Chain Reaction Softball in Warren, OH has an annual tournament every Father's Day weekend. Go to chainreactionsoftball.com to watch for more info on this year's event. It will be posted soon.

There is a nice early bird tourney the valley extreme run in early may and another real nice one in later may run by the hornet in ambridge beaver county pa.

The Sparta Summer Shootout is one that I would look at. ?You get atleast 8 games for the weekend, so all your players can get some playing time.

Tiger Town Tournament May 5,6,7 and June 2,3,4 I think the dates are right. The tournament is in Massillon.
