A school is actually reaching out to the softball community to help fill a softball position? Amazing.

It shouldn't be amazing, but it is.

Wise move. It's a position that any former player with a teaching degree would relish. Nice community, too. Rural and peaceful, yet within 30 minutes of the big city.

What happened to the current coach, I believe his name was Apple, a former baseball player?

New Revere Softball Coach Named

Lisa Simpson is the new Head Softball coach for the Lady Minutemen. A University of Akron graduate, she also holds a National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Certification. Simpson’s experience includes serving as Head Softball Coach at Cuyahoga Community College and coaching at several high schools including Doylestown and Waynedale. Lisa was the OCCAC Conference Coach of the year in 2007 at Cuyahoga Community College. Her team won the conference in 2007

Athletic Director Todd Osborn says of the 2008 inductee into the National Softball Association of Ohio Hall of Fame, "I am extremely excited to find such a high qualified coach this late into the school year. Lisa will bring a lot of enthusiasm and expertise from the college level to our program. She has a lot of experience running National Tournaments and will help our athletes advance to the collegiate level." Simpson joined the high school staff as an Intervention Instruction Assistant in October.

She's probably wondering why someone would leave a college program to be a high school coach. Any word on who will be taking over at Tri C and if they will honor Lisa's commitments?

Exactly, Chico. On second thought, however, there are 1001 reasons for wanting to change jobs. Maybe she's a high school teacher, too. In any case, that would seem to be a really good spot. Nice community.
