I've never heard of a tourney using a pitching machine for HS age kids . We have one being advertised for late July here in SEO . Regular softball , except you use a pitching machine . I have not heard of such a thing. very common ? being advertised for HS players grades 9-12 .

I'm speechless.

Would every pitch be a juicy meatball right over the middle of the plate? 'Sounds like a "Showcase for Defense"....

Louu . It left me asking under this advertisement "you mean real softball but you use a pitching machine" and the answer was "Yep " I thought maybe they meant 8u but accidentally put 18 until I read " for HS players"

Everybody knows that college coaches won't look at a machine if it's wearing a facemask....

No one has answered a " yes' I've heard of a 18u machine pitch tourney . I'll assume its a rather new idea . I dont get it , but thats Ok . If everyone thought the same the world would be pretty boring .

MD, are you going to venture out and see if it's as strange as it sounds? And if teams actually show up? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can't imagine it showcasing the defense at all the way those balls take crazy bounces.

I have heard of hitting leagues with a machine, but never a tourny..... If you have a good machine that can throw different pitches like the drop baller at UK,s camp that would be ok, no one can hit it

Geez, I failed to consider that they'd be using giant yellow golf balls.

This gets even more weird.

Heck, I think this might be a good boost for my team. Down the middle is all we like at the moment. I cannot find any frisbie plate tournies or we would be going, lol.

I figured you organized it to get rid of pitchers and their parents... :lmao:

ATEC's Casey Pro line of 2-wheel machines throw about any kind of pitch and can do it with regular balls too.

This tourney might have a converted wheelbarrow and a motor out of a Ford.
