why can't organizations be restricted to threading tryouts under a single thread. also whats with that person and most of those useless threads?

If you're talking about the RSS "user", that is an automated "bot" that posts the messages to the board. I just "ignore" the "Coaches Needed" board.

As far as the single thread thing... it has been really bad this year with teams posting each team listing in the board. I really don't know why they feel it is necessary, but there is little that can be done about it without putting the smackdown on the thread starters and bumpers.

I really don't mind it. I can sift through most of it pretty quickly, as we wouldn't even consider some of those teams. I would like to see it broken down into regions. But it is what it is.
Once one person starts to "bump" others do as well. It's a vicious cycle, otherwise I've seen the threads disappear into the third page in a matter of minutes.

There are a couple of people that are bumping threads pretty much every hour which makes me wonder. I'd really encourage teams to consider using the tags - a couple of standard ones:

area code (i.e. 614), region descriptor (i.e. Central Ohio), and age groups (i.e. 2U, 3U, etc.)

People looking for your teams can then do a Tag Search and pull up your tryout thread regardless of the page it is on.

I really don't even read the "Teams Looking" forum at all unless I want specific details. I just mark them all as "read" 100 times daily.

Luckily I live in the Dayton area and use www.daytontryouts.com to plan my DD's tryouts. THAT is the format I wish was used here. Huge props to Todd for putting that up for the last several years.

The tryouts map is another great resource: http://www.mapservices.org/myguestmap/map/tryouts2010

I love the tryouts map, maybe tryouts could be restricted to the map and then you click on that team and it directs you to their website for the specifics. It would eliminate the disgruntled posts under each tryout, if they exist.

We consolidated our Tryouts into a single post with each coach posting their needs... this should help a lot of teams get more time on page 1.

I work on a PC all day and I jump over and bump it about every hour or so, my wife watches it as well from her job... we try to bump it to page 1 when it reaches bottom of page 2 or so depending on how active the board is...
