1) Looking over in the passenger seat on the long ride home, Seeing my athlete that gave it all that weekend, sound asleep.

2) Knowing that for all the effort & time given, she is doing this instead of getting into trouble.

3) Seeing old friends & making new ones

4) Hanging with parents that are the only ones that understand "why would you spend the time & money on travel ball". (we all know the rest of the world really doesn't!)

I love tournaments where you have to play your A** off every game to make your team better.

I Love the fact that there's examples of how not to act and think on this forum for all of us to learn from and become better parents/players/people.

I love......
1) Still hearing from former players, thanking me for the time I put in with them. I love these kids like my own.
2) Watching my players finally accomplish something after several failed attempts. The look in their eye is priceless.
3) Parents that take a minute to thank you for all that us coaches do. Its nice to hear a compliment once in a while.
3) My Friday night 40+ "old man slowpitch" league

1. Love getting invited to grad parties from my old players.
2. Pictures of their awards being texted to me with a simple "thank you for this"
3. Getting texts from college players asking if I saw them play on TV.
4. Coaching with no DD on the team and feeling like they all are my DDs
5. Getting texts after a game or the morning of asking about their place in the order or their starting position. Most coaches wouldn't like this, but for this old timer it shows their wheels moving in their brain and they want to improve.
6. Getting texts from players after a bad loss wanting private time for work outs.
7. Having a player come to me and standing up to me if they believe they were wronged and wanting to know why and what they can do to change my mind.

1. Watching them develop individually and as a team from tryouts to tryouts
2. The fact that my family loves going to tournaments even though I don't have kids that play. (keeps me going!)
3. All the relationships with kids and parents developed over the years.
4. Getting surprisingly hugged from behind by a former player.
5. Watching Ladies I used to coach getting degree's and becoming adults
6. Coaching along side former players.
7. Being underestimated in anything!
8. A team with great chemistry
9. Fresh cut grass and brick dust
10. Umpires who don't take themselves TOO seriously.
