Proceeds from the John Wells Memorial have provided $28,000 in scholarships to softball players from Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Perry, Morgan and Coshocton counties. {There are two $1,000 scholarships awarded each year at the JWM.} Past recipients and their high schools were: Heather Sayre (Caldwell), Erin Mozena (Tri Valley), Monica Blanford (River View), Emmy Ramsey (John Glenn), Amanda Flowers (Sheridan), Anegla Shurtz (Ridgewood), Kayla Bates (JG), Megan Brothers (JG), Sara Butts (West Muskingum), Kelsey Tom (JG), Samantha Crum (Shenandoah), Logan Hursey (JG), Traci Alt (Buckeye Trail), Molly Scholl (JG), Kinsi Tellep (Meadowbrook), Ashley Long (Philo). Haley Kolmerten (Ridgewood), Alyssa Wolfe (New Lexington), Alexa Abrams (BT), Dawn Fitch (Maysville), Haley Flynn (Philo), Katie Hill (Shenandoah), Allie Hinton (Newcomerstown), Taylor Spang (RV), Paige Cooley (Cambridge), Megan Muhleman (RV), Paige Morrow (Maysville) and Kerri Dolick (JG).
