***June 18-20, 2010 and played at the beautiful Highland Community Complex in Sparta. (approx 30 miles north of Columbus)***

***2010 NSA World Series Qualifier for 16-U & 18-U brackets***

***12 teams max in each bracket***

***4 g/g Format: There will be (3) 4 team pools. There will be 4 games pool play, then seeding into a single game elimination bracket.***

***$375 entry fee plus $25 for 2010 NSA sanction fee. There is an early pay discount of $50 until 4-1-10. Also if multiple age groups from the same organization enter on the same check, they can take the $50 per-team discount for each team. We will take a $100 deposit-per team to hold a spot and still honor the discount. The balance of $225 would be due 4-1-10 to avoid forfeiting the discount and losing your spot. June 4 will be the paid-in-full date for the remainder of teams that use the deposit option. After June 4, deposits will be forfeited and spot will reopen if tournament is closed at that point.***

***3 berths if all 12 teams participate. If less than 12, berths will be earned on a 1:4 ratio***

***There will be a minimum of 2 team and individual awards. If we meet our goal of 12 teams, then there will be 2 additional team awards.***

***We will take teams up to Monday 6-7-10 at 8 PM or until the brackets fill which ever occurs first***

Thanks Don. I just think we are "fishing" the wrong pond on this one this year. Plus getting the word out as late as we did, didn't help things out.

My thought is to go 14-U and 16-U. I have secured some scholarship dollars to give out for next year and would like to use a college recruiting service. Plus moving back a week to get off the Marion Lasers date would be a good idea also.

I am going up take a look-see for myself in the morning as they are doing there community ball park clean up there tomorrow barring any more snow! :)

All I can say is wow this is a nice facility. Since we have not had any solid interest/committments in this, we are going to table this one for this season.

I did speak with the folks in charge and we are going to secure the date a little earlier next season. This will give us a chance to get the word out earlier and maintain the scholarship dollars that have been promised to the event.

Thanks for all who have inquired about this one.

Highland Community park is a very nice facility funded in part by Tim Belcher, a Highland High School (adjacent) graduate and now Cleveland Indians pitching coach. They have improved the park every year. My hats off to Tim for helping to bring first class baseball and softball to central Ohio.

The only drawback is the lack of restaurants and hotels close by, so you might have to drive 10 miles+ to find a room and food. There is a very nice concession stand. Hotels are at the I-71 exits at Sunbury and Mt Gilead, and in Mt Vernon.
