Not part of Ohio Energy, just one that made the move!

At the halfway point for my DD, and things are going very well. We've been up against some of the best in the state so far, and have hung in there with such a young team. That, and playing in the Semi's and Finals the last few weeks have shown our progress. The true test will be the Fireworks frenzy, and Stingrays the next couple of weeks! We're putting these girls with the best, not only for the experience, but to make them better as players as well.

Your situation is unique and your roster shows that there is a Lake County team playing at a higher level and growing. You'd just never know it by the name on the front of the jersey. I really thought your girls had 'em this weekend.

Thanks to those sticking up for Northeast Ohio! :D I can only speak for the 12u age, but I think we have some fantastic talent up here :yahoo:

Granted, they may not be out of the Lake County area, and we are somewhat spread out, but there are many great teams at the 12u level in NE Ohio. For example, in last week's vote, 10 out of the top 15 teams are from NE Ohio area: Ice Orange, Diamond Chix, Thunder Elite '00, Ice White, Ohio Power, NOS [Hurricanes], Emeralds '99, Wolfpack, Thunder Elite '99, and Ohio Blast. Even when you look at the overall voting for the season, we still have 9 out of the top 15 teams.

Yes, we have to do some traveling to get to most of the BIG tournaments (Lasers, GAPPS, etc), but that doesn't mean that NE Ohio doesn't have a lot of talented fastpitch players and teams!

Now that the secret is out of the bag LOL! Yes, Even though the team is based out of Strongsville, 8 of the 11 girls reside in Lake County, and are doing quite well. I thought so too, a fair bunt here or there, and we don't leave bases loaded and win by a couple instead of losing by 1. I'm happy to have this team in the finals the last few weeks. They are working hard, and it shows.

It's not that there aren't any good softball players in NEO. The problem is there are too many teams with incompetant fathers running the show. There are only a few organizations that continually focus on players develpoment and challenging thier players to play at the highest level. Every organization in NEO has one team that is really good and as soon as that team runs its course the coaces / dads move on too. There are some good ones out there and once you find one, you will know.

Agree, The talent is there, the teams are just watered down....most of Ohio is that way, too many teams

I agree jennatyui....... most of Ohio is that way. Some of the earlier comments just sounded like there was no quality players in n.e. Ohio. I'm sure they weren't meant that way, just sounded like it that's all.
