Lasers Gold playing in Demarini Invitational Showcase

This is an 18u showcase that also includes some top 16u teams. Lasers Gold is in Pool A, notably with Beverly Bandits Conroy and Team Mizuno 16U (nee OC Batbusters Maroon) - The DeMarini Invitational Showcase - Pool Assignments and PoolPlay Schedule Schedule

Team Mizuno finished a disappointing 7th in PGF 14u last year and almost all of its players are committed to major D1 schools - http://tm16u.shutterfly.com/commitments. It will be interesting to see the outcome of their 4:45 game Friday and how both teams fare in the pool overall.

Just noticed the Allisters are putting on an On Deck Softball recruiting camp there. They do a phenomenal job for the players fortunate enough to be invited.

Derek and Joann Allister of OnDeck Softball will be running one of their signature showcase recruiting events on the first day of our schedule, Wednesday July 11. Gold 1-1-1 so far with a win over the Arizona Hotshots , tied Bandits, lost to I think Mich Finess

Hearing a ton of "rumors" flying around this tournament about the OHIO kids.... Bandits 16u adding quite a few Ohio girls next year: Lasers Orange will move to Beverly Bandits (or least Mack's kid will and a pitcher); a couple Lasers Gold girls will be wearing Beverly Bandits jerseys too along with some Chill 14u kids too. Should be an interesting next couple of weeks. JP is already making his move on the Lasers Orange & Chill kids that "didn't get the Chicago invite" since the coaches kids will now be Bandits......

It might be gossip Jen but where there is smoke, there is fire....these "rumors" about Lasers Orange have been circling around since the Demarini invite back in January. As far as # of Ohio kids, I'm pretty sure there will several Crown Point kids on the team as well. Maybe you are thinking of next years 14u Bandits

They did do a phenominal job. By far the best camp we have attended. Paid close attention to the little things, like providing lunch for the college coaches so they didn't have to leave while games, agility testing, or IF / OF drills were in progress. Hint , Hint, NFCA.

We were able to pick-up play first thing Sat am and makeup all the Fri pool games. At the end everyone got their 6 pool play games and many coaches came back out on Saturday. We did have to scrap elimination play which was a little disappointing, but the primary focus was recruiting so a set pool schedule and making sure all the teams got their games were our primary considerations. We finished pool early Sunday and also had time for some killer practice game matchups on the available fields. We will get the pool play scores up on the website in the next couple of days. Thank you to the great teams who participated, the many college coaches who attended, and to OnDeck Softabll for running their first ever Chicago Jamboree to start us off with a big bang on Wednesday.
