Since this thread has completely changed directoion ...
she takes their progress much more personally. And when they fail she feels like it was partially her fault since she obviously had not prepared them enough............and I know she is not the only coach who cares that much. Lots of coaches are like this..at least the best one are I think.

I can bring it full circle... The other 'coaches' blame it on a lack of talent and post for STUD players to improve their team! jk

I have to ask though and NOT being a pot stirer here at all.

Say an org has two or three teams in one age group.. what is wrong with that?

If you have one "A" and two "B" in that age group.. I would think that is great actually.

Reasoning: the following year girls move up or some switch org... then you have a bunch from your two "B" teams that you have been working with to make better the past season... and maybe three to four has improved enough to be on the "A" team.

Are you not trying to make the "B" players better to be on the "A" team? Sure you are !!!!

Then the "B" team that supplied players to the "A" team.. can pick up some more "B" players for the "B" team and the process starts over after the season.

It's like an endless supply of " worker B's " to supply the queen (A).

I'm sure I'm sending this off track again. I've never considered our dd a stud player, so perhaps we kept our dd out of travel ball longer than we should have.

I have been surprised at how fast she has developed as a player since she grew disgusted with her rec ball team and wanted to try the higher level. Perhaps blossomed is a better word. She loves every part of travel ball and the girls she plays with, and especially the getting better part.

But when her travel coach asks, "How soon can she pitch again," and "I need to find a way to keep your stick in the line-up when you're not pitching."

This is just a long-winded way of saying thank you to all the people who make travel ball what it is and what it provides for girls who use it to find out what they're made of, and what they can accomplish on their own if they want to work at it.

We only roster studs...because we selected them...lmao

And my DD doesn't play anymore and she is still a stud to me.

C'mon Musty...if that doesn't bait you into this post...

I have to say that I have also found the concept of finding a "stud" or elite level player this late in the season a bit of a stretch.

BUT>>>>>>>>>>>

Our 10U has been looking for a girl, and maybe a pitcher(could use a 3rd). Well yesterday a 5'2" young lady walks into our practice who has been taking pitching lesson looking to play travel. I think we all just about fell over. Both parents are former college athletes. I swear I have never heard of anyone finding a 10U pitcher other than developing one. She has been playing baseball and wanted to play softball now. We have not even been running ads since that never works. We had just figured we would bring girls up from the 9U as needed or pick a girl up. I am sure her parents are crazy or broke. Because other wise we have become the luckest team ever. My wife said "that girl just walks like a stud, I played catch with her and she is the legendary "stud" player......LOL"

So maybe if you just sit back and relax a really good player could show up. We need to see her swing the bat but finding an athletic girl who is ready to work and get better is always sweet. Regardless of how good she is right now.

So.....what is her name and phone number? Come on, we're all friends here. Trust me, I'm a doctor and I know about these things.:D

Just kidding. Hopefully it will work out for all.
