Results - Facility & Tour reviews

Can the Tournament Director for "MAPLE LEAF EAST - ANNUAL PGF QUAL. (Note 8U only $200)" please post scores and results inside the Latest Tournament(s) scores, results and standings section of the web site.

Coaches if the (TD) can't post the results, maybe you could post your individual results inside this thread.
Would be nice if someone could write some review on the "MAPLE LEAF EAST - ANNUAL PGF QUAL. (Note 8U only $200)" tournament and the Facility itself.

Very well run tournament with outstanding talent. Indoor restrooms and fair concession prices. No gate or parking fee. Ample parking and warmup areas.

Gold championship 14u - Wolfpack over Streak (Camo).

Thanks to all who participated, this was our first year at Streetsboro and I would like to thank the City of their welcome and assistance. They are in the process of continuing to making even more improvements for next year.

I would like to thank so many coaches, for all they contribute, some of whom have been coming since they had 10U teams and sadly will be 16U next year and we will loose them. We are working an a plan to develop a second event with this tournament format in older age group shortly after this one to include older teams (Avoid conflict with HS ball).

We had good weather, many great games and the pleasure of many great people. Thanks to all who helped and all who coached and especially to all who played the games!

Thanks again!

A very well run tournament, great parking and acreage for pre game warm ups. Umpiring was good, fields were in great shape and the weather was fabulous. Would have liked to have seen 2 porta potties each adjacent to all the fields, as it was quite a distance from the outlying fields but overall a Grade A experience!!!

Thanks, the comments on adding porta potties is something we may consider in the area of fields 8 & 9 as it is a bit of a walk. We ran Breast Cancer Tournament and this one on back to back weeks and this is something we will discuss We have good relationship with the City and working on some additional thoughts for next year. The flush restrooms are great to have and would get the majority of use, but sometime it is nice to have something closer to fields as well.

Thanks for you kind word, we really do try to make this a pleasant experience for everyone at a reasonable price.

I saw lots of pictures being taken by a woman who was moving from field to field. Any idea if those we will be available?

You're very welcome, the comments were well deserved. This is my 2nd time at your tournament and I hope there will be many more because both years we had a great experience!

Right over here!
There a number of upgrade suggestions to this tournament.

1. Have breakaway fences for all. Some permanent fencing was in place on fields and i think there was one field with the temporary fencing. These fields had severe elevation changes and some hard hit balls rolled, what seemed like forever. Lots of in the park home runs. Great for batting team, not so much if you have to chase a ball down hill.

2. Lots of last minute schedule changes. Would have been very nice to use tunrey machine or at least post the brackets on the ohio fast pitch tournament website. I understand its a cost thing but the reviews are awesome. The poster board at the the front was difficult to follow at times.

3. The gold silver bracket is not a favorite. Not many turkeys like this. Either make it a true double elimination and allow a team to win their way back in or keep with the single elimination. Yes it may be a few more games however there was not a unreasonable amount of teams there. I understand the extra games, but too much confusion. Lots of parents with no clue about what he silver really was.

4. The grounds crews did a nice job with lining in-between. There was some very dry conditions ( it was like playing in baby powder) and a number of holes developed in the infield. With the fields closer to concessions it would have been nice to hose these down in between as well. I saw a coach on one field with a water bottle and handfuls of sand repairing a hole in the infield by first base!
