Maybe your DD is not as good as you think she is

I always tell my dd "your a great catcher, but imagine if you worked at it more, you'd be even better." I think its OK for a parent to believe there kid is the next Mendoza, or Holcomb, etc...... just don't announce those thoughts here unless your ready for a 9 page tounge lashing from the majority. In the end every parent should be there kids biggest supporter, not there biggest critic. Oh and by the way I have no idea about the original post you were looking for. :cap:

One thing I know for sure is that there are a lot of talented young ladies playing softball! I would hate to be a coach at some of these tryouts! Very tough decisions to be made…

This commercial shows it all of a proud dad. :) The only thing I brag about my daughter is her grades and faith.

Does you'r DD want to work harder or do you want her to , The great players have that special drive in them to be the best they work hard on there own they might get a little push now and then from there parents but they do it because they are built that way, I believe great players are born because they make what they do look easy .

You beat me to it. Maybe be she Is that good, is everyone here a glass half empty kinda person?

I think they are afraid to say how good she might be as it comes off arrogant and people tend to pile on if you say anything remotely positive about your own dd. I personally always think there is room for improvement in life and softball.

There's always room for improvement, the way I see it if you're not moving forward you're either standing still or moving backwards. I will admit mommy and daddy goggles can throw objectivity completely out the window. With that being said I really could care less either way.

I just wanted to here some positive talk, everyone is entitled to think their dd is the next bustos or finch... Even if their not. Sometimes you just got to sit back and smile.

Careful you are really close to bordering on common sense here..... very dangerous territory

Its just fact as you have witnessed and I have witnessed in college. You can be the best HS pitcher or travel ball pitcher and hitter as well in the state, but when you reach the D1, D2 level of college, these pitchers are going to face lineups they have never seen before.......Hitters, your going to face pitching like you have never seen before.....just fact.

Obviously depends on the state and the level of travel ball they've played. It's why the top softball programs recruit where they do - to see players going against other D1 prospects - and afterward push their recruits to play against the highest level of competition they can.

Playing in PGF and ASA/USA Nationals is a great reality check for players and their parents.

It depends did you pour the glass full than drink out of it than it is half empty or did you just pour it half full.
