Did anyone else watch Mizzou vs James Madison last night? I was so annoyed watching Jordan Weber mow down Dukes hitters while pitching illegal all night, especially after watching D3 pitchers get nitpicked to death all spring. Was happy to see James Madison win despite this. And the homering of the strike zone by the plate ump on Odicci Alexander was downright shameful! Is it any wonder the host team wins 77 percent of super-regionals?

Rant almost over. I'm still in favor of ditching most of the pitching rules. To make it fair, let the hitters contact the ball with a foot out of the box! Enforcement is an absolute joke and completely arbitrary.

I truly see your point and have champion for the rules to become simpler for many reasons which includes taking the pressure off umpires to enforce them. I feel this way about many different sports. If you can't enforce them to their fullest, don't have them. Take away gray areas as well. Keep the rules black and white.

Some of you know I am into car racing as a hobby. I have argued with my local track for years to lift rules they don't enforce unless a protest has been levied. Drivers shouldn't have to put up money to prove others are in violation. All that does is give a guy a bad reputation in the pits. It forces them to be self-appointed track officials that others resent. Screw that, just do away with the rule/rules and enforce the obvious.

As a pitching instructor, teaching the girls would be easier if there wasn't as much to remember. lol. Heck, I can't remember it all......
