My daughter is new(er) to fast pitch softball. We live in colerain township, Cincinnati, ohio. Right now we are on a rec team. She is 10 right now with a December birthday. She is a pitcher and has started private lessons. This kid has natural talent in her. Let us know what's out there.

Good organizations in your vicinity who probably have teams at your daughter's age include:
Cincy Slammers
Ohio Thunder
OFC Heat
Freedom Elite

I'm sure I'm leaving plenty out so no offense, these just came to mind. There are plenty more teams in a wider area, depending on your tolerance for travel.

Tryouts happen in late July and early August. Teams will be posting tryouts in that section of the forum. They also have team profile pages that give you some insight into what they're about. My advice is to do lots of research go to as many tryouts as possible and ask a lot of questions, especially since your daughter is a pitcher. In my experience, teams that plan to carry too many pitchers will have problems for parents looking to make sure there's an acceptable amount of playing time. Don't be afraid to be clear about what the expectations are from the coach and any you may have as a parent so you don't end up surprised later. Coaches appreciate that in my experience. Even if it's not the right fit at the time, you'll be making a connection for the future and most coaches I know have been very happy to help kids with introductions and input, even if the fit isn't right at that time. Don't be afraid to walk up to a coach after a game and ask for his or her opinion for a girl just starting out in travel ball. It's a very small community, especially in Cincinnati.

I'd also recommend going to a number of tournaments (listed in that section of the forum). It will help you and your daughter get a sense of the differences from rec. The game is a lot faster with much higher expectations.

Good luck with the transition. If she loves the game, she's going to get to play so much more than she did in rec.
