Quakerman may I suggest that it is not a good idea to put down teams that play in Fall leagues. They are also potential customers later on. There is more then just the Sept tournament that they are looking towards and slighting them may not be the smartest move.

Also, many teams are just getting set and may not even had a chance to practice yet. I know that our teams will be holding their first practices in the next week or so. This is not the case for all teams but I suspect that many are not where they want to be with regards to jumping into a tournament just yet. Just a thought.

Not putting them down.... Just wonder why the interest in Fall Ball leagues. If they are paying to get in at a park to play.... then more or less the same money could have been used to play in a tournament. That is what I am wondering.

Most teams play fall League because it is a good way to get used to thier new players and for a small fee (sometimes $35.00 - $50.00 per player) they can get 10 to 12 games in. This makes for a nice way for coaches to see their team in many different situations. It is not perfect for all age groups but especially for younger age groups I think that there is a nice benefit.

Tournaments are also great. I just think that they are beter suited for the month of october. Just my humble opinion.

I agree with you somewhat....lol... I just think when I watched the Fall leagues where they cahrge admissions to get in... Well, if they paid for the umpires for a double header
AND gate fees... then a little more money and they could have played a tournament of a guarentee of four games.. plus as well if you are winning. Fall ball is a good time to go after berths where in the spring and summer the girls can go after something else in the larger tournaments. Also, with gas prices the way it is, a three week drive to the park to pay for double headers could have been avoided by playing in a tournament. Pros and cons each way I am sure.
Hey, we are trying to understand the concept of Fall leagues. From this end, I see both sides of it...lol

Couple of 12u tournaments went down... so I have an Indianapolis team wanting to come down and play. Try to reach the Northern Kentucky Bandits and the Clermont Hurricanes to see if they want to play and maybe look for a fourth team. I am leaving the 12u open search for teams until Thursday night.

Last weekend turned out to be a good tournament. I wanted to thank all the teams, coaches and parents for coming out and I especially wanted to thank everyone for helping keep the park clean.
It took some hard work to get the fields ready after the rain we had friday and friday night, but we got them ready...

Sincerely,
Dwayne
