Quick question while my daughter and I fill this out.

The page that ask if she played with any club teams since the age of 14, if any was paid for to play for ect........
Im sure it is alright to say YES to this and the other questions about uniforms, time kept and score, BUT, I want to be on the safe side and not screw this up!

Silly question Im sure.

Not clear to me what you are asking... but it sounds like the question pertains to her amateur status. In a nutshell, she can not have accepted payment in any form in return for her participation on a sports team - which would deem her a professional athlete, and ineligible for amateur status in the eyes of the NCAA. In other words, no college ball.

Questions were if she has ever had her parents or any other adult pay for her to play club ball and pay for uniforms. Also did she play in timed games where an official score was kept.
Yeah of course she has like all travel girls have, but the way they word that and just having that on there as questions worried me like why would they ask that. Dont want to misunderstand what they are asking and answer yes and mess things up. Made me think why would they even ask, knowing girls do have this done. Again dont want to misunderstand what they are asking.
They also do ask if they were paid to play or received any benifits,ect........

I agree, that is really strange to ask. I mean why on earth does it matter if she played in a timed game?

DD had to return one of her scholarship because her school claimed NCAA would look at the scholarship as performance based. We didn't fight it because it would of kept her from fall games so not all questions are innocent.

leads me to wonder how some of these football and basketball players get away with anything.

Sounds like a question to those who did this already. Surprised none have chimed in, unless this is a totally new question.

My DD had to fill this out a couple years ago and the question is not new. You are being asked if your family paid for your child to play on this travel team, and the answer is yes. They did not pay her to play or have her fees paid so she could play. Your fees covered uniforms, bat bags, entry fees ect... It will not make her ineligibile to play.

Best to go right to the source with questions on something as important as this. I have called the Eligibility Center , and though you may be on hold a long time, have gotten questions answered and they were very helpful.

FYI: My question was about paying others to promote my DD, does recruiting websites such as CaptainU, BeRecruited, and others count. The answer was : You have to answer Yes to that question and list them if you paid for the upgrade, NO if you just do the free option.
