Who is the favorvite to win in the NEC this year, Edgewood has dominated the past couple of seasons but they did lose 6 starting seniors, but they still have Megan Dragon and she can pitch with the best.

Jefferson is returning everybody but last years shortstop, I think they could be a tough team to beat, good pitching with Kari Rouzer and Megan G.

I don't know if Conneaut has the horse's to run with those two teams. they might?

Geneva made some big stride's last season going from a 4win season in 06 to a 12win season in 07 will they continue to improve? I know their pitchers Brookes and Sharff have been working hard over the winter, do they have enough to close the gap with Edgewood?

Is this Jefferson's year?

Will Mother Nature let us play some games early in the season? its tough up here in the heart of the snowbelt.

All questions that will be answered soon, looking forward to the soon to be here 2008 softball season

Don't have a dd in high school yet, but being from this area I like to attend as many games as I can. I have watched a lot of these teams play and they all have some very good players. The problem I have is that these High School games are all so predictable, same old, same old. Mix it up a bit and play some small ball and use the strengths you have and you might see some different outcomes.

Gunner, good point! I think in many occasions that the travel ball girls are not permitted to do some of the things that they do best when playing with their club teams.

Their travel ball coaches have them pretty much year round and know their capibitlies, where the high school coaches only have these girls 2 months and many times never realize all the things that a player really brings to the table.

Mix in the non travel ball girls, OSHAA rules, politics, win now! mentality and it might become easy to fall into a conservative comfort zone.

I to would like to see more delayed steals. hit and run, and even a suicide squeeze every now and then, raise the bar a little higher.

Now your talking Jojo, way to conservative for my liking. Don't get me wrong, there is a time that you don't want to run yourself out of an inning, but like I said, use the talent that you have. I don't know how many times I've seen lead off batters get on and they never even attempt to bunt the second batter. I don't know about you but I'll give up an out to get my leadoff in scoring position. I see way too many teams go to the plate against a good pitcher and strike out, at least put the ball in play, you never know when the defense is going to make a mistake.

OK everybody its time for my predictions, I wanted to wait til after the superbowl because I didn't want to take anything away from the NFL's little game sunday!

But due to pressure from ESPN, Fox Sports, and Sports Illustrated, I have decided to go ahead and give my picks today ::) ?

I hope Roger Goodell is not mad and realizes that fastpitch is #1 and football is #2 OR #3 OR something.

I feel Edgewood will repeat as NEC. Champ's in a very close race, it will go right down to the wire with one game separating Edgewood and Jefferson in a very exciting season, got to go with Edgewood because the pitching is better there, the whole NEC. is as follows

1 ?EDGEWOOD
2 ?JEFFERSON
3 ?GENEVA
4 ?CONNEAUT
5 ?HARVEY

Whats your prediction and why?
