couple questions --Is this tourney held the same weekend every year ? Our HS is looking to for something like this. What type of format do they play ? I guess they also take non catholic schools also. MD

The 6:30 games all got in, all the 7:45 and later was rained out on Friday night

I think in the early game it was
Lakota East over Boone Co
Conner over Mt. Notre Dame
South Dearborn over St Henery
Cooper over Holmes

In the 7:45 before being rained out Louisville Male was up 7-0 over McNick. This Louisville Male team was loaded and should end up in the GOLD Bracket.

Its two pool play then seeded into Gold, Silver and Bronze brackets then one and out format. First year I’ve seen this tournament but it reminds me of a summer tournament and how I can’t wait. So Far the only thing they could do better is post the brackets. McNick was suppose to play Cooper today and now we are playing St Henry, figure that on out. Off to the ball field 12:00 pm game.

I thought Ohio High Schools could only play 3 games in a weekend?

I know the event started on Friday and all .... but in a weekend (Sat and Sunday) you can only play three games I thought.

Maybe I am wrong .. does anyone know ?

I could see Ohio teams playing one on Friday and then three total on Sat/Sun. That would be legal.

DD plays for Louisville Male. They topped NewCath 13-0 earlier.
The game last night was cruising along fine until Hurricane Ivan rolled in!!

Louisville Holy Cross won earlier, but not sure against who.

Will post some scores as they come in.

3 games in one day is what I was told.

The way it ended up was one pool play then all the teams except the Ohio teams were seeded 1-16. The Ohio teams were seeded 1-4 and all given a bye so they could not play more than 3 games. The thing I didn't like was the put the #1 Ohio seed in the Gold, #2&3 in the Silver and #4 in the Bronze. This put Lakota East #2 seed into the silver bracket and they deserved to be in the Gold.

Louisville Male wins Gold over Toledo Central Catholic 1-0 in a tremendous 8 inning pitching duel.

Lakota won Silver. I thought they looked very strong, but don't know if they deserved Gold seed over TCC. Toss up I thought.

Didn't finish until 1:15AM. Looonng drives home.

Also, South Dearborn from Aurora, IN is a great team. They earned my respect.

Lakota East deserved a Gold spot over anybody in that tournament. They were solid.. had 5 home runs on the weekend and no hit and won in a 12-0 run rule vs. Boone County in the silver championship. Pitched their #2 pitcher vs Holy Cross and she only gave up 2 hits I believe.

Mt Notre Dame won the bronze over New Cath 9-1, long day. Arrived at Rivershore at 11 for a noon game and ended up not playing our first till around 6 or 7. Lakota East looked very good and both pitchers in the Gold final were extremely good.
