Now that Joe's moving up to the collegiate ranks, Mike Candrea had better be watching his back as Joe may someday be gunning for HIS job! ;D

If Mt. St. Helens goes off, I'll be sprinting back to Ohio. I did hear there were bears north of Spokane. That doesn't excite me. If I turn around and see a bear, I may faint on the spot. I don't even like birds. I'm not likely to be venturing into the mountains.
BOO! ;D ;D

Joe, if you do see sasquatch - take a picture or video before you faint....

Here is what you are looking for...

Good Luck and Best Wishes, Joe A!

I must say that I envy you. If I could chuck the 8-to-5 corporate gig for a full-time sports job, I would be sooo out of there!

Thanks to all of you for the nice words and well-wishes. I forgot about TheBearMay when talking about bears!

I have loved the friendships and camaraderie of Ohio softball so much that one of the first things I plan to do out in Washington is to start to build those types of relationships. I dearly love being at tournaments around Ohio and nearby and just chatting with everyone and watching all the girls on the various teams play. I enjoy seeing all the familiar umpires and joking with them, the tournament directors, the high school and travel coaches, college coaches, etc. I'll be around for most of June and will be at probably Compuware and a few other tournaments (and hopefully back for Loudonville for my 18-U team's last-ever tournament), but in the role of a college coach.

And of course I'll still be here and on the Huddle to the extent that NCAA rules and ethical considerations allow me to post.

Joe,

Congratulations on going to the next level !

I have enjoyed talking to you at tournies and at practices the past 4 years. You exposed our DD to numerous opportunites in softball (QDSN & QDSS, Compuware, etc.) and I am grateful for the Buckeye Heat orginization for that and the tirelees work you did for softball in Ohio. Your coaches at all levels reflected the integrity and high standards that you follow yourself, and I'm sure they will continue.

Whoever takes over at TWHS and BH will have BIIGGGG shoes to fill!

Joe, Congrats. I don't know if you were the first to get Howard Kobata to come to central Ohio but that's how I first got the opportunity to see the man. You allowed coaches who wanted to observe the clinic to come in and get a look for free. It started me on the Kobata way of defense. Thanks for raising the bar.
