These courses are fantastic. You get access to some of the best softball coaching minds in the country and the written course materials are very very good. Though the courses are pricey ($225 if you are an NFCA member and register during the early bird period), we have found them to be well worth the money. (I've completed 5 of the courses, which means if I can make this one I will be awarded a third star in the 4 star program and Ted has completed 4 of the courses; I mention this to show that we believe the product is well worth the cost).

In the past the Columbus venue has been hosted by OSU. Last year, the ODU coaching staff and team played an instrumental role in the course at OSU and I am sure they will do a fine job hosting this year's course.

Gayle Blevins coached Iowa for 23 seasons and her record of 1,245-588-5 in 31 seasons as a Division I head coach makes her the second winningest coach in Division I history.

Rhonda Revelle is 680-371 in 19 seasons with the Nebraska Huskies and is slated to enter the NFCA Hall of Fame in 2011.

Susan Craig coached the University of New Mexico for 17 seasons. She is the author of "The Softball Handbook". She is currently president of a company called Athletic Advantage, which focuses on speed and agility and specializes in improving athletic movement.

These are great courses offered in our back yard. I have attended two and both have been instructed by top flight college coaches. Last year Heater Tarr fresh off of her WCWS win was one of the instructors. The material is well thought out and well presented with plenty of opportunity to interact with them, the college and the travel ball coaches in attendance.

Imagine my surprise to find Donna Newberry with nearly 900 wins taking the class, taking notes and participating just like a first year travel ball coach.

I'm sneaking back on to make another pitch for this course. NFCA has made it a point to present the various courses (not one has repeated in the 7 years that I've been taking them) in Columbus. This year the date (they use the same weekend every year) corresponds with an Ohio State football game, but I'm REALLY hoping that we have enough people at the course to convince the NFCA that they should continue offering courses in Columbus.

For organizations: after the first registration by a coach, you will get a significantly reduced rate for all other coaches from the organization. Makes the course a great deal for what is offered.

That I have come out of retirement to encourage attendance just shows how much I admire these courses. I'll be there, as will Ted.
