Nokona

I just wanted to get this out about Nokona.
Whenever I was looking for a new catchers mitt for my daughter, I did my research. While at the Michigan Univerity softball clinic, I ask them what they used. They said the Nokona was the best glove they ever used. So I went out and bought a Nokona. Two months into the breaking in period, one of the laces either snapped or came loose in the pocket. I contacted Nokona and they said send it to them and they will fix it. Once they received the glove, they tore the glove completly apart and accused me of putting the glove in the oven. To make a long story short, I had them send me the glove back..which they did completely torn apart. I took it to the glove doctor. He has put it back together for me, but has told me he does not see where they could figure out if it was in a oven(which it never was). He has been trying to get them to call him to explain where they came up with their theory of the oven, but they will not return his calls either.
I just want to warn everyone about how Nokona treats their customers.

Just something on the other side of the fence. My sister has a Nokona catcher's mitt and has never had any problems w/the glove. Everybody that I spoke w/before told me that they could send it back and have work done on thier glove w/o any problems.

Just wanted to get the other side out there also.

that is what I was told too. That is why I went with the Nokona.
All it takes is one time, and it leaves a BAD taste in your mouth.

Wow. That story surprises me.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Nokona customer service. Their gloves have a quality reputation and a near-cult following. They've been in the glove business since 1934, and you don't last that long by jacking around your customers.

The cost for them to fix a broken lace couldn't be more than a couple bucks. I relace and restore gloves, both as a hobby and as a mail order business, and this is an easy fix.

Maybe you should follow-up and hope to get ahold of someone at their company that knows what he is talking about.
