Northwestern kicks OSU's behind!

Northwestern beat OSU today in both games of a doubleheader 7-0 & 6-0. The thing I love most when watching Northwestern play is they do not believe in the short game, it's always the long ball or nothing. Tammy Williams was powerful at the plate and runs with phenominal speed and a freshman named Michelle Batts looks to be the new power hitter on the team. Also sophmore Lauren Delaney pitched both games with the first game being a no hitter. I predict it will be between Michigan and Northwestern for who finishes first in the Big Ten this season.

It was nice talking to you hockey at the game. Always nice to be able to put a face to a name.

The Lady Buckeyes need to work on recruiting a top shelf pitcher. Reeder and Miller are just not quite where they need to be. On the other hand, Delaney from Northwestern, kept the Buckeyes off balance all day. When I saw Delaney come out for the second game, I was guessing that OSU could make the necessary adjustments, and make a game of it, it just didn't happen. The one bright spot was the play of Dee Dee Hileman, what a great little player.

Yes I am a buckeye and even participated in NCAA athletic competition while attending OSU but I don't have a strong loyalty to the softball program for a number of reasons that I won't get into. It's just that Northwestern has a very dynamic program and I have enjoyed watching them for the past several years in the College World Series as I think they are an exciting team to watch. Also having watched the Drohan sisters work with players firsthand I can see why their program does so well.
And Knights, I enjoyed talking to you too and wish we had more time to watch the game and chat. I actually am capable of discussing more than how bad our HS team is.

Knights: Is Hileman the second baseman who also played with the Lasers Gold in travel ball? If so, she is definitely a good player. Enjoyed watching her play when we played them last summer.

Yes, she is who I am referring to, and I'm sorry that I spelled it wrong, but it's "Hillman." To good of a player to mistakenly mispell her name.

Hillman has amazing speed and reactions and the diving play she made to tag the runner going to first was top shelf.
