We hope the clinic will attract a lot of athletes. We believe we are offering great value for your money. The athletes are guaranteed to be seen by many schools. (More Coaches will be added as more athletes register.) ALL Coaches observe EVERY athlete, one player at a time, while the athlete performs 8-10 hits during batting practice, and while they work out at their defensive position.(All players even Primary Pitchers take batting practice and workout at a defensive position.)
Primary Pitchers are evaluated on Day Two during games, and Secondary Pitchers have the opportunity to throw a bull pen evaluation session.

Each athlete is pre-assigned to a College Coach who will evaluate their skills during their workout session. At the end of Day One their pre-assigned Coach will give them a
one on one
verbal and written evaluation. The athletes are also given Specialized Instructional Sessions in Running Mechanics, Assessed in Lower Body Strength (Bi-Lateral Comparison of the Lower Extremities) which is administered by a Certified Athletic Trainer. All players will also be laser timed from home to first.

The afternoon of Day One, the athletes will attend 3 clinic sessions with 3 different College Coaches.

Day two is game day. Only one game is played at a time, so that all Coaches are on ONE field watching One game.

This is a great opportunity for the athletes to be given unbiased feedback, and to learn what it takes to play College softball.

Parents are also given free seminars on Nutrition, Financial Planning for College and Injury Prevention.

There are a couple of discounts going on right now

Earlybird discount pay only $315
Sibling discount second child pays only $295

What is the early bird deadline? I'm thinking if it's as good as it looks, then it might be worth the money, especially for 2 days.

I have a group interested in your clinic, going to look more at your website today. I was told groups of 3 can pay 295.00 per person is this still the case?
Also, have more coaches been added?

fpitchdad, Im with you on this one 4 bills. That's what's wrong with the camp's and clinic's out there. Fastpitch seems to one sport that has survived the rough ecomony and then clinic's priced like this. i'm pretty sure most travel coaches can give your dd a honest evaluation and if they can't when you go on college visit's they will give you an idea where you should be looking and what u need to improve on.

I disagree with your comment. There is nowhere else that girls are guaranteed to be seen by 8 head coaches all in one place. I would rather, for my girls, pay 295 for this than pay for several lower cost clinics at several schools as I would end up paying a lot more. On top of those prices I would also have to pay gas money to get to each of these schools and maybe overnight stays. I think when you total all of this up, personally for us this is by far the best and lowest priced option. This way we also save a lot of our time going from school to school and that for us as busy parents is a major factor.

This may work for you but as a parent of a player that will play at the next level div 2 in 2011 i see a lot of parents throwing away money at these camps and all they do is put the word (college coach or college showcase) and everyone that has not been educated about college recruiting goes crazy for the check book and you here the same result. i'm not trying to be a smarta** about this but ask some of the people in your organization and see what worked for them and i'd be real surprised if they said a camp like this now nfca stingrays camp is probably a good one to spend a hundred. good luck

buckeyes21,

First of all thanks for the info. About the NFCA stingrays camp, I already knew about it, but I went back on the website today to check it out again. However, as much as I don?t want to, I still find myself having to disagree with you.

Although it looks like a great event, my girls would not get a chance to interact with the coaches as this is not allowed, also they would not get instruction, or an evaluation.

I have nothing against these types of recruiting events or showcases but, you are never 100% sure that your daughters are being noticed, there are a lot of kids at these events. I have already had one daughter go through the college process, so I?m not na?ve to the facts. I may be new to the whole forum experience, but I?m not new to softball, or the college recruiting process.

I can pay $100 for the showcase you recommend, and my girls can leave not knowing if they have what the college coaches believe is needed to play D2, D3, and without knowing what they need to improve on to play at those colleges.

I agree with what you said about travel ball coaches and I value their opinion, but I would prefer to hear that from the college coaches of the schools my daughters are interested in. (The travel ball coach cannot offer my girls a place in those schools.)

I have now signed my girls up for the Diamond Edge Clinic, so I?m afraid we will have to agree to disagree.

They offer everything I?m looking for. Paying only $195 more for this than the showcase you suggest, I am getting

1. The opportunity to know 100% that the coaches are seeing my girls perform, on their own, and as part of a team. (8 coaches, maybe more)

2. An honest opinion of where my girls are at right now, and the work they need to put in to improve and play at the college level. (verbal and written evaluation from a college coach) Which if we?re honest when it comes down to it; it?s the only opinion that really counts.

3. 3 hours of clinic sessions with 3 different college coaches

4. Specialized sessions with an athletic trainer/testing, running mechanics etc.

5. Seminars for us, the parents, on Financial aspect of college, nutrition and injury prevention(lowering the risk of injury)

6. The opportunity for the girls to interact with the coaches, of schools they would love to play for some day.

I only hope that more people will see the value in this type of clinic, because they will have a ratio of 7 players to 1 coach, the more players that attend, the more coaches will see my girls. LOL!!

I?m just sorry this wasn?t around when my eldest was going through this.

I guess we are all looking for the same thing, just choosing different routes to get there.

I respect and thank you for your opinion as I?m sure you respect mine.

I wish your daughter great success in the future. Have a great day.
