Ohio Emeralds 08-Sirohman will be holding private tryouts for next season. We just completed a successful season as the team compiled a record of
63-26-2 playing in 8 Championship games throughout the fall and summer.

We will be specifically looking for a CATCHER, 3B, OF. We will be looking to add only 2-3 players to fill these positions.

The Ohio Emeralds is a proven travel ball organization that has been in existence for over 20 years and has guided countless players to the collegiate level. As coaches for an Ohio Emeralds team, it is our responsibility to prepare the team to move to the 14u level. This means continuing the process of preparing players to play at the collegiate level.

The plan for the upcoming season will consist of the following:

SUMMER TOURNAMENT SEASON (MAY-JULY): We will play 8-9 tournaments to include high level/showcase tournaments to such as Lasers, Firefighters Memorial, Stingrays, PGF, D1 Fastpitch or other comparable tournaments. We will limit the out of town to no more than 4 of the tournaments in total (less if possible). We will also have off weekends dispersed throughout the season. During the season we will have at least 1 practice per week, and possibly 1 optional practice per week.

FALL: We will play at least 15 games (tournaments and friendlies). Fall school sports can take precedence over softball, however, as in past seasons, we will play games when the most players are available and get guest players if needed.

TEAM OFF SEASON (Nov-Feb): If the budget allows, we will have an indoor training facility available for use similar to last season. In addition, players are expected, and will be responsible for maintaining and improving their softball skills on their own. We may do an indoor league which will be open to our players first. If not filled by our own roster, we may pull players from elsewhere to play. Training and workout logs will be required for the off season in order to show how your player worked to get better.

SPRING TRAINING (March-April): We will do indoor/outdoor practices/games to prepare for the season. This will likely consist of at least one indoor tournament and 2 practices per week.

Our model is to continue to build a highly competitive team, provide a balanced approach to players/families, limit the out of town travel, and prepare players to play in college. The estimated cost for next season is $1100.
