Ohio Hawks 10u Herman is having a tryout Friday evening, August 8th. It will start at 6.00. Please arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for registration. I am looking for 10 year olds turning eleven after Jan. 1st. The tryout will be at Kettering Field in Dayton The tryout is from 6.00 to 8ish. Read below to see what my goals are. The Ohio Hawks Herman 04 are having tryouts..........
We are looking to push your daughter's abilities to the next level. I am interested in strong players who can, make the extra throw, take the extrabase, think quick on their feet. I am very interested in seeking out 11 to 12 players.
Your daughter may have not been asked to do these things on an consistent basis, I am looking for players that can do this or who are very skilled and can be taught. I want each one of my players to be able to bunt, slap, hit, play strong defense and be very aggressive on the bases.
Most importantly, I want to challenge your daughter at each and every practice. My goal is to improve their level of play on a daily basis. To do this, it isimportant to have a strong foundation of parent support.
With the girls only being 10u, I have no problem with them playing multi sports as long as we can work together on scheduling and softball is a first priority from something like May 15th to July 30th. During that period, we will have at least two weeks off for Summer Vacations.
I would like to have practices at least two times a month. With
a couple weeks off at Christmas and NewYear's.
I am looking to build this team with players any where from The Dayton, Middletown and Cincinnati area. We will have regional practices in those areas. Our practice schedule inthe Fall will be on mostly Sundays with some Saturday's. I would like to play in two Fall tournaments. We will try to work around Fall Soccer tournaments. I will work with your daughterindividually if needed. I expect a strong work ethic coming from mom or dad aswell.
I have coached select ball for nine years and have been a varsity softball coach for six years. I know what it takes to get the team to the next level. In addition, I have been doing pitching lessons for 12 years. It's good to have a coach on the bench who can help your daughter with her pitching during the game. I will work closely with pitcher and catcher on how to call a game. It is so important to keep a group of players together and watch them improve year after year.
Last but not least, I will be very positive with your daughter, I will get onyour daughter when needed, I will always bring her back up too. The girls cannot improve their play unless they are challenged. Getting them to push forward and not settle for average in the key.
