Ohio Stampede 14U Murphy is an 03 birth year 14U team based out of Delaware Ohio. Team consists mainly of girls from around the Columbus area, with 2 out of state players. Outdoor practices are held at Buckeye Valley High School from end of high school season to the end of October. November through February weekly practices are held at the Delaware branch of the YMCA. During the winter we focus on hitting, fielding, and strength/agility training. Also, during the winter we compete in 2-3 indoor friendlies. During the fall we hold a weekly 3-4 hour practice on the weekend working on all aspects of the game. Also, during the fall we participate in 2-3 tournaments. During the summer, we practice 1 evening per week, working on all aspects of the game with extra focus on matters needing addressed from previous weekend. During the summer we participate in approximately 9 tournaments, with 1 being out of state. We are a strong B level team in our fist year, with the goal of becoming an A level team as talent develops and is acquired. Defense is very strong, batting is explosive with much long ball capability. Looking to develop pitching roster. Have one ace pitcher at this time, using subs whenever possible to lighten the load. Looking for a co number 1 or solid number 2 pitcher. Team is coached by Sean Murphy (head coach), Bryan Miller, and Brent Rose.
