This clinic is designed to help improve the pitching skills and catching fundamentals for softball athletes of all ages and ability levels. Well known pitching instructor Mark Blasczyk, Head Coach Cassie Cunningham and members of the 2010-2011 Battling Bishops Softball team will run the clinic and provide instruction.
Site: Gordon Field House
Time: 9:00am ? 12:00pm Pitching for 5th-8th Graders
1:00pm ? 4:00pm Pitching for 9th-12th Graders
9:00am ? 12:00pm Catching for 5th ? 12th Graders
Ages: The clinic is open to all girls in 5th -12th grades. (Girls will be divided into age appropriate groups for instruction.)
Players are to bring:
Pitchers: Each pitcher MUST bring someone to catch her and they must have protective gear unless it is an adult. She should also bring indoor shoes, glove, and a water bottle
Catchers: Catching clinic participants need to bring their own gear if they have it, as well as indoor shoes, glove and a water bottle.
Cost: $50- pre-registration ($60 at the door)

Pitching Instructor Mark Blasczyk
Mark has pitched throughout the U.S. in men's division fast pitch and has offered private instruction for female fastpitch athletes for over 10 years. His 8 years of experience as the pitching coach at the collegiate level has given him an extraordinary advantage as to what to teach and how to prepare area youth for college fast pitch and the classroom. He now has students playing college fast pitch throughout the U.S. He is involved with the development of area youth programs and students coming from all corners of Ohio. His main goal is to prepare students for college fast pitch and the classroom. He has a personal goal to someday have a pitcher represent the U.S. in the Olympics. He currently has a couple students with that potential!
Head Coach Cassie Cunningham
Cassie Cunningham took over the Ohio Wesleyan softball program in 2006 looking to continue the recent success enjoyed by the Battling Bishops. She came to Ohio Wesleyan from Capital University, where she was an assistant coach for 6 seasons after graduating from Capital in 2000. The Battling Bishop softball team finished as Co-Champion in the NCAC in 2010 with a conference record of 11-6 and an overall record of 24-15. In 2010, the Battling Bishop softball team made its 3rd consecutive NCAC tournament appearance, and has competed in the tournament eight of the last nine years. The Bishops also finished the 2010 season ranked 7th in the Central Region.
Margaret Sagan Field
Ohio Wesleyan University is proud to announce the completion of Margaret Sagan softball field which was officially ready for play in the Spring of 2008. The field is the first on campus venue for the Battling Bishops softball team in program history. Join us for a home game in the spring as we enjoy our beautiful complex! The 2011 Battling Bishops softball schedule can be found at bishops.owu.edu.
