2016 OHSFSCA Speakers - a quick glance at two more of the speakers that will be at the 24th Annual 2016 OHSFSCA Coaches Clinic:

Jen Croneberger:

Jen Croneberger is the CEO/Founder of Excellence Training Camps, Inc. and is currently the president of JLynne Consulting Group, LLC. Jen has worked with people of all ages, from all walks of life, instilling confidence and building deeper connections and awareness. Jen was consulted by MTV’s show “MADE” as a mental skills/fear coach for one of its subjects in the Fall of 2007. Jen spoke at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association national convention in Orlando, FL in 2012 and is an annual speaker at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for their Christmas Camp. She also delivered a TEDx talk at Gettysburg College in 2013 and at Seton Hill University TEDx in February, 2014 as well as March 2014 at West Chester University. A life-long athlete, she has held numerous sports coaching positions, including the head softball coach at Unionville High School, assistant and head softball coach at Ursinus College and the Mental Game Coach for the (NPF) Women’s Professional Softball Team, The Philadelphia Force. An author, Jen's first book release: “These Five Words Are Mine”, A collection of blogs about seeing everyday life with new eyes was published in December of 2012.

“Jen is an amazing young coach and speaker who specializes in helping athletes young and old overcome fear of failure and enjoy the game. I saw her speak a few years ago and immediately hired her to do my Christmas Camp of over 400 girls. She wowed them. I brought her to the Cherry Hill Coaches Clinic (Be the Best You Are) to speak and she drew large crowds who left singing her praise. When I think of five words, I think – “Simply the best, “BETTER THAN ALL THE REST”. I am proud that she is involved in our camps and clinics. Karen and I enjoy her friendship! Bring her in, she will bring out the best in your players!” = Ralph Weekly Head Coach, University of Tennessee

Howard Kobata: "Kobata Style"

Howard will be making his second trip (2007) to the OHSFSCA Clinic in 2016! Howard will be joining us from his home in Hawaii. His knowledge and expertise coaching throwing and fielding is a must see for all coaches. Howard's expertise has taken him to all corners of the United States. He is now being called across the country to conduct clinics and has several appearances recently in Ohio. The style of aggressive defense that Howard teaches is great for all skill levels, and his lessons in proper throwing and positioning while fielding can make all the difference in making the out. Howard's ability to break down the different defensive techniques, and the logical explanations, has made him a standout in the defensive area of the game.

Attend his sessions and you will be energized to start practice with your own team ASAP!

2016 OHSFSCA Speakers - a quick glance at two more of the speakers that will be at the 24th Annual 2016 OHSFSCA Coaches Clinic:

Jenny Gilbert - Ass't Coach Ball State University

Gilbert, who is currently completing her second season as a member of the National Pro Fastpitch’s Akron Racers, began her collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant for her alma mater in 2015. With her help, Ball State finished the season with a 34-25 (14-5 Mid-American Conference) record, won the MAC West Division title and claimed the league’s tournament championship to earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Regionals. The Cardinals went on to defeat 16th-seeded Notre Dame in the regional opener for the program’s first-ever regional victory.

A two-time All-American left fielder as a student-athlete for Ball State from 2011-2014, Gilbert helped guide the Cardinals to three MAC Regular Season Championships (2012, 2013 & 2014) over her playing career. Gilbert, the only All-American in program history, became just the fourth two-time All-America selection in MAC history when she was named to the NFCA All-America Second Team in 2014 after earning third team status one year earlier. The only three-time MAC Player of the Year (2012, 2013 & 2014), Gilbert finished her career as one of only 11 players in NCAA Division I history to earn her respective conference player of the year award three times.

Gilbert finished her collegiate career as the league’s record holder in runs batted in (246), runs scored (215), home runs (75), doubles (62) and slugging percentage (.810). Her 75 home runs ranked eighth in NCAA Division I history at the conclusion of her career, and she became the NCAA career home run leader among Canadian-born players with her 66th blast versus North Dakota State (March 22, 2014). In addition, she ended her playing career tied for ninth in NCAA Division I history with 246 RBI, while her .810 slugging percentage was 10th.
