My daughter uses a 12.25" Akadema glove - Pitches, Plays 1B and Outfield -
Shes complaining she is getting a bruise on the palm of her glove hand from catching with this glove -

Other than tell her to stop catching with her palm and start using the web is there anything you can suggest?

It does not seem the Akadema has much padding in the palm area.

Can more padding be added?

Can you suggest a good all around glove for her?

Thanks

My daughter had the same issue. The Glove Doctor was able to add a thin layer of padding to the palm. She's had no issues since.

They make a catcher's 'inner glove' that I've used for catching pitchers.
It has some padding on the fingers and the palm that will protect your daughter's sensitive hands.... : )

Here's one, but there seem to be many.

Might try this -
I had an old pair of weightlifting gloves that have the leather padded palm and fingers but she said it felt wierd in the glove, I think because of the suide on the padding and the fact it had 1/2 fingers it did probably catch in side the glove.

thanks

I played and pitched high "B" slo pitch used to get lit up up the middle. I used what is basically a shock absorbing pad you could stick in your glove.

I believe the best product on the market is the Inner Glove by Palmgard. Google it or go to dicks sporting goods online and search it. They make multiple different combinations for the palm and fingers. Bought my DD one last month and made a big difference. I think it was like $25. She is 5' 100 lbs and got a youth xl. They make adult sizes too

I use a padded glove inside my mitt to catch the DD.
It a cheap Louisville slugger tpx padded glove, but works great and had paste over a year now.
I added an evoshield thumb guard because I kept getting nailed in the thumb and bending it backwards!
Works great when your reflexes and eyesight go south with advanced age...
