rainy season play?

After 4 weeks of non-stop rain we are on the brink of trading in our cleats for beach shoes, and our uniforms for rain suits. We leave practice with wrinkles not sunburn. Our gloves smell like a wet dog not leather and sweat. Now the season is upon us and the big question is are we going to play today and this weekend or are we going to spend the day in a hotel room. Are we going to eat a walking taco running between games or are we going to be staring out the window shoving a styro-foam meal in our mouth.

So the question of today is where are the best rainy season fields?
Who covers their infields or maintains them following a storm front?
Whose fields dry out fast?
And where should we avoid during this wet season?

And for us could somebody tell me if Lancasters fields will be in good shape this weekend if the rain stops, or will be be playing is a swamp?

I can't tell you anything about Lancaster's field, BUT - a walking taco cures a lot of ills. ;D

I can tell you that Lancaster's Martin park fields hold up great. It's the grass parking areas you have to worry about :-?. Walking to the back diamond can get a bit interesting though !!

We're in Delaware for The Jug this weekend and are being told to bring our rain gear . They have lights so we'll be playing rain or shine !!

G/L to everyone this weekend.

And you know it will go from this right into the 80's once this nonsense breaks....... But I like it 90 and hot!!!!! Was gonna bring the battery electric blanket to yesterday's game. This stuff makes me feel like I'm in the Northwest. New warm ups will be the Gorton's Fisherman gear...

zanesville and berliner get soaked pretty bad, and then you have to wait for the city crew to put down their donuts to assists (no offense, ricky, you make due with what you have)....lancaster fields have been pretty good, i like the ones in marion, but last time we were there it was dry....the pick central crew maintains those pretty good and when we were in greenville, they kept those up great, but i dont remember it raining so whatever

The fields in Carlisle at the school are great regardless of rain - rained throughout our rec tournament a few weeks ago and they were still awesome - meanwhile down the road in Monroe they went through 2 pallets of speedy dry and the fields still looked like Monster Jam had just visited.

Rolf Park in Maumee (Toledo) can take a beating with the best of them. They drain very well and are kept in great shape.
Best memory of the field situation there was we had a game against the Lake Erie Waves and a monster storm blew right in and just hammered us with winds and strong rains. The storm lasted about 20 minutes or less. After the storm passed about 45 minutes later we were playing ball. We are talking some heavy rain from that system!
Was one other time where we thought we would be delayed due to rain but wasnt.

Never did get rain while at CYO fields in Toledo so I couldnt tell ya how those fields hold up.

The Field of Dreams in Boardman ohio (NE) are some of the best fields around. They truly sink a lot of money into them. Played there a couple times in rain and the fields are always in great condition. Wet or dry! ;D
