Dtown I agree alot of the " go green" is marketing. I know that Sad and Benbudda are thinking that the little bit they do is not going to hurt anything. I grew up on a farm. We burned our trash and had our own dump as did all our neighbors. We used old motor oil to kill weeds and did a hundred other things that we wouldn't think about doing today. Now at that same farm we have trash pick-up,recycle the oil and have had the our old dump as well as the one on an adjacent farm we bought cleaned up (not cheap). We felt it was the right thing to do even if our little bit might not make a difference.

The original post about recycling bins at tournaments is a great idea. The TDs could probably call their county solid waste districts for guidance. The Ohio EPA also has a website on recycling which may be helpful.:)

OK I GIVE UP! As I said awhile ago lets just let this go back to the original post which was a good idea. I'm sorry that I have a different opinion.

No burning of garbage isnt just a good idea.....It's the law.....

Under Ohio law, these materials may not be burned anywhere in the state at any time:
  • <LI style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">garbage?any wastes created in the process of handling, preparing, cooking or consuming food;
  • materials containing rubber, grease and asphalt or made from petroleum, such as tires, cars and auto parts, plastics or plastic- coated wire
I could either burn it or dump it and I choose burn!!

You can either break the law or follow it and you decide to break it......I understand why you do, and dont fault you one bit, but what bothers me is you seem so proud of it.

Nobody can make you care or understand, but if one day your actually interested in learning, theres a ton of information out there that says what your choosing to do is bad for you and your kids health.

Someone should tell that to the scrap yards in Cleveland. P.S. I was just trying to restore some sanity.

I'm no tree hugger (unless my tree stand is iced up during the rut) but if we had bins at the tourney's and we can contribute lets do it. Simple and my 2 cents...

As far as marketing, you had better believe it is out there! If I can design a new product with 50% more efficiency than the next company's product.... we will ride the wave!!! A true competitive advantage in a stagnate, old, or mature market will allow us to keep people working and staying capitalistic, profitable, (not trying to be political) and growing profits----let it be green.

I don't Dump oil down the drain, I don't litter, I waste much less, But the Go GREEN has me bonkers! Even windex...no formula change, no huge new technology...there label....WE'RE GREEN. WHY?

Better products, more efficent products, more jobs, yes....Scare Tactic Marketing, Drives me insane!

I am all for a new product flood inthe market. I save $50 a month on my electric bill with the energy lightbulbs. If you can make products like that then I'm in!
