Removal from Team, Coaches when is it time to let a softball player go?

The following questions was asked - What about the money? Under what circumstance of removal or resignation will the coach give the money back?

My view is as followed, if the Coach removes a player from his/her roster or the player resigns YES some type of prorated refund should be available.

Well, depends on situation, but for most teams money comes in and goes straight out to lock in tournaments, uniforms, and such. Not always easy to refund, unless a new player is signed and pays the difference.

If team monies are paid out and you quit or are released due to breaking team policies or such, then no refund. Are you expecting the coaches, families, org to pay out of pocket the difference?

Its a complicated question based on why, when, communications/expectations at the beginning, etc. In my experience, there is rarely ever a refund given for this, again all depends on when this takes place and team policies. You better spell this out in the beginning via paperwork that each family signs to save yourself the headaches.

It situation is different. Generally, but depends on the time of the years. For us, if it was a coaches choice to remove a player we would give them their money and part ways. But, if a player quit that is a different situation especially if money was already spent on uniform, equipment facilities etc. As, coachtomv said you better have spelled out in you team rules/paperwork. As long as you do it helps eliminates most issues.

If the family or lady quit the team $0 back unless, a replacement player was found and at that time they would only get back a percentage of funds for tournament cost not played or "if" it fits selling the uniform etc. to the new player.
Cost for practice facilities, insurance, sanction fees and tournaments /games played would not be reimbursed.

If a player was removed from the team the refund would be handled the same way...However; as a coach you pick the lady and the family. You control the team so I do not see a situation where this should happen...If the lady is not working sit her...late to practice or missing sit her... Fees late sit her...let them deselect if they do not like the rules that should have been spelled out in the player/commitment contract anyway...

Depends on the situation, but in general don't count on it.
