As coaches i guarantee with fast pace of the game we have all yelled something and 99.9% of it is unintentional to one of our own athletes during a game for the purposes of coaching, however I find it absolutely disgusting a coach would try to swing the game in his favor at the expense of one of these young ladies...my own personal addition to the story basket. Last summer one of our 14u's had a third baseman from another team look directly at a female base coach and say "don't make that face you dumb...." ill allow you all to insert the profanity at your discretion. The umpire was informed, he laughed and nothing was even said to the opposing coaches or to player...total shame

With the start of the season around the corner this should come up again, specifically at the younger ages. There is always one in during the weekend, who does something dumb.

Code of conduct should be a part of the game.. Not for the players as much as the parents!

Yelling by a coach can be misinterpreted so easily. If your a coach there are three cardinal rules.

1. Never yell at a UMP- teaches the kids the wrong message. Fight for what's right but do it with respect.
2. Never yell at the other teams kids- this is just sad.
3. Never yell at the other teams coaches- again think about what these young ladies see.

Yelling at your own kids? Well that's a coaches prerogative.
