Chasing its first-ever California Pacific Conference softball championship, Embry-Riddle has a pair of daunting hurdles to overcome in order to realize that vision. Entering the final two weeks of Cal Pac action, the Eagles are tied at the top of the standings with Marymount California with identical 10-2 records, one game in front of seven-time defending champion Simpson, sitting close behind at 11-5. While a wide variety of potential playoff scenarios could play out, one possibility looms larger than it ever has over the past seven seasons--the Cal Pac may have a different regular season champion than perennial power Simpson.
