COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Huntington softball team wrapped up their season-opening weekend series at Marilyn D. Sparks Park by topping St. Mary-of-the-Woods College 10-4 Saturday afternoon. With this win, the Foresters improve to 2-1 while the Pomeroys drop what was their first game of the spring.
HU got their bats going early to dominate the game and never look back. The Foresters clocked two out of the park to highlight their five-run second frame. Sophia Beachy was the first to send one long, a three-run blast, after Joelle Beals and Hannah Shoupe found their way on base via a single and walk respectively.
